7th Grade - 12th Grade
1ST HOUR
Boyz 2 Men - $35
Teacher - Bob Saul III
In this class, guys (and gals) can learn to build a wall, wire a light switch, electrical plug, and light bulb. This will take a number of weeks and if we have remaining weeks we may learn to do other household projects that every "future home owner/husband/wife" should know how to do. This class is limited to 8 students and will be chosen by age. The older kids will have opportunity first as they will age out of Hometeam sooner. Bring your own safety glasses.
Colonial Paper Crafting (3rd-7th) - $0

Watch Colonial America come to life with make-and-play (and take home) projects! Each week we will learn about one of the original 13 colonies and make a new model, including a 3-D model of Jamestown, a New England seaport diorama, and a moving Dutch windmill.
Chess Club 2.0 (4th-12th) - $0 - NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Beginners and experienced players are both welcome. We will pair you up to teach a friend the game and then we will also play each other based on our abilities. This semester we will be switching up partners and maybe throw in some twists and turns to our games. Be prepared to strategize and learn.
Exploring Drama (5th-12th grades combined) - $0

Do you already enjoy acting and would love an opportunity to learn more skills? Maybe you have always wanted to be in a play but unsure how to play a part? In this class, we are going to explore acting. We will experiment with different types of acting including traditional from a script, pantomime (acting without words), improve (acting from a general outline). You might get pulled into a devotional skit. We also might learn a bit of ventriloquism if students are interested. Come have fun, and explore different aspects of acting.
Yearbook - $0 (9th-12th grades only) - NO LONGER AVAILABLE

This class is not for the faint of heart. This year we will continue working with TreeRing to create another amazing yearbook. Along with the normal, photography, page layouts, theme and design, we will also dipping our toes into journalism working toward submitting a spread to be featured in the yearbook. You will be required to take photos during co-op, at field trips, teen nights, dances and other co-op events. Members of the staff are expected to have a high level of maturity and the ability to work independently. Students must have their own phone for pictures, know how to download and create account on Treering and upload their pictures on a weekly basis and bring a laptop to class. This class does have homework (creating pages, uploading pics you took at Hometeam, etc.) Please do not take this class if you are not willing to put in the work. COMPUTER AND PHONE FOR PICTURES IS REQUIRED!
2ND HOUR
Asian Cooking (6th-12th) - $40

We will be traveling the world to Asia with our taste buds! We will be exploring the many flavors and textures of Asian cuisine, including some of the internet favs this semester - think hot pots, potstickers and more!
ALLERGY WARNING - there will be dishes that include gluten and students with allergies are discouraged from taking food classes.
Customs of the Bible (6th-12th grades) - $0

We will start out the class with a devotional and then explore the rich traditions and customs in the Bible. Some might include -
What significance did earrings have in the Bible?
What Jesus really meant by the "eye of the needle?"
The difference between modern and biblical wedding celebrations?
Although Christianity is generally considered a Western religion, it is important to recognize that the Bible itself was written and set in the Eastern world, and it must be viewed through the light of that Eastern window. In order to really understand the Bible, one must become knowledgeable of the culture, manners, and customs of the Eastern world.
Come join Mr. Saul and explore some of these customs.
Friendship Bracelets (4th-12th combined) - $5

Learn how to make a new friendship bracelet each class period with minimal supplies! We'll start with simple knots and designs and then advance to more intricate patterns.
Hand Sewing (6th grade and up) - $5 - NO LONGER AVAILABLE
Teacher - Deb Saul
Hand sewing this semester is going to learn English paper piecing. In this class we will do hand sewing, cutting out fabric, fussy cutting and basting. This class will have a limit of 6 students. Students will need previous hand sewing skills.
Pure Michigan (6th-12th) - $20
Teacher - Erin Brewster
Each week, we’ll dive into the rich history, legends and stories of our great state. We’ll also sample some of Michigan’s iconic and delicious foods. Plus, we’ll get hands-on with creative art projects and fun crafting activities!
The Art of Homesteading (7th-12th) - $10 - NO LONGER AVAILABLE
Teacher - Teacher Needed
Homesteading and all about the farm. We will learn about animal husbandry, regenerative farming with animals, maple syrup making, tallow soap and lotion, sewing, wool felting. Lots of hands on activities and a possible field trip to farm sometime in the semester.
Think 2.0 - $10
Teacher - Kathy Ratliff
Think 2.0 - If you have been in Think before, come back. This is not the same class. It is upgraded with new and improved things for you to create and think up. Same concept, you have the supplies you need, you just need to let your creativity flow and see what you can "Think" to create.
3rd HOUR
Card Games (5th-12th combined) - $0
Teacher - Anna Campbell
In this class we will learn classic card games using a regular ole deck of cards. Some you may be familiar with and some you may learn to take home and share with your family.
Chemistry Labs - $25 (8th-12th grades)
Teacher - Lora Saul
Come explore the periodic table with games, chemical reactions, and balancing equations. We do many hands on activities to cement the principles and we try to make Chemistry fun! This is a basic labs class that can go along with just about any chemistry curriculum, I will probably scour the internet for most of our experiments. Come join in for a lab credit if you take it full year.
Geography Fair (3rd grade and up) - $5
Teacher - Lisa Brown
This will be a class where everyone will pick a country and research the country to prepare a presentation for the Hometeam Fair in May/June. Date is TBD. We will research the flag, population, currency, economy, education and all sorts of other topics that apply to our country. We will learn to write a letter to the embassy to request them to send us materials. Some homework may be required, and bringing in books on your country will be needed. Students need to be able to read and write.
Make a Scarf (4th-12th) - $10
Teacher - Amber Cemer
No experience necessary for this beginning crochet class! We will learn all the basics of crochet and practice on smaller projects with the end goal being a completed scarf. Students will get to choose their yarn color. If any student already knows how to crochet, I'm willing to help instruct them on a more advanced project if time allows and they have basic knowledge.
Stretching - $0 (K-12th combined) - NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Stretching is important at any age. Come have fun stretching our muscles get our bodies loose and healthy with our friends.
Viral Recipes (6th-12th) - $40 - NO LONGER AVAILABLE

We have all watched these "viral" recipes go crazy on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok. Each week we will try one that is all over social media and make it for our tasting pleasure. Come join us for a tasty culinary adventure.
