COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Community service projects:

Our group held a penny war with boys against girls.  This was to aid the humane society.  The first 7 weeks the kids brought in pennies and put them in their girl or boy bin.  The last week the children will bring in their silver coins and put them in the opposite bucket.  This subtracts the money from the pennies count.  We did this last year and were able to raise with a match $140 for the Michigan Humane Society.

Our group this year has also collected pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House.  This helps them raise funds for their amazing charity.

We collected supplies and sorted care bags for the charity called Anchored Hope.  This charity helps women escape sex trafficking.

On April 26, 2019 - We were able to go volunteer as a group to help this Waterford, local disaster relief effort.  We made plarn (plastic bag yarn), cut and sorted donated plastic bags.  We hope to make this a monthly or quarterly opportunity for our group.  The gentlement also run a Coffee Shop and it is all first responders that are the Barista's.  Be sure to stop by and get a good cup of coffee and a donut.

Every year we help out the Stamp Out Hunger Charity at the Open Door Outreach Center in Waterford.  We meet and sort canned goods for a few hours.  It is always a well attended event.
