Kindergarten - 2nd Grade
Please pick three choices from each hour for registering your child.
A first choice and two back-up options.
We try our best to arrange the first choice but classes fill-up and we will place you in your 2nd choice, the third choice is rarely used unless first choice is full and the second choice has been canceled due to lack of interest.
Most classes are limited to 12 students unless otherwise noted.
1ST HOUR CLASS CHOICES
Ballet - $0
Teacher – Jo Anne Kroll
For beginner to intermediate dancers. Students will enjoy learning Ballet, Motor Skills, and Creative Dance while blending educational concepts such as dance history and music appreciation. Students should bring a leotard and tights or leggings to change into at the beginning of class. Ballet shoes or thick socks are needed, and practice skirts are permitted. Please refrain from performance attire as it restricts movement; we will have a recital costume and/or tutu wearing day the third week of class.
Essential Oils 101 (2nd only) - $25
Teacher - Gloria Jensenius
In this class we will go over the basics of essential oils, where they come from, their history and extraction methods. We will also be talking about carrier oils, make bath salts, a roller ball, snacks, and other exciting things all using essential oils.
Games Class - $0
Teacher – Jason Carlson-Mocny
Do you love candy land, chutes and ladders, memory, BINGO? We do too. Come learn how to play some board games and learning games will be incorporated. Children’s opinions will be taken on game suggestions for each week. Children must understand that the teacher will be picking the game and be cooperative in playing the planned game for the week.
Gym (k-3rd) - $0

Honor Club - $5
Teacher - Sharon Bazzell
Say Goodbye to Whining, Complaining, and Bad Attitudes, in You and Your Kids - Children will learn what honor is through a fishing expedition, how to deal with selfishness through a construction site, how to address their own anger and then go one step further by becoming peacemakers. The activities will challenge children to think of ways to add energy to family life instead of draining it.
Karate for Kids - $60
Teacher - Natalie Hargett - Outside Teacher
This is a new class for our co-op. Natalie is from the PKSA Karate Studio in Clarkston. Come get a taste of Karate. Students do not need uniform, please just wear gym clothes and tennis shoes. A waiver will need to be signed to attend this class.
We specialize in increasing your child's self-confidence, discipline, and self-esteem. He/she will be taught child awareness, prevention, and effective self-defense techniques. In addition, we provide lots of fun and games to assist in keeping your child excited and interested.
Our instructors are thoroughly trained to teach our program, and they are required to stay current in our instructor certification program.
Stories, Snacks & Crafts - $5

In Stories,Snacks and Crafts our activities are centered around a theme each class. We will be thinking on winter and spring this semester. Each class we will have a snack and do a craft that go with the books we read that day. Some books will be read to present some facts and other books will be for fun. A few examples of those we have used in the past are: Polar Bear and the Snow Cloud, by Jane Cabrera, Penguin and the Cupcake, by Ashley Spires, and There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly, by Simms Taback
Survival Skills (2nd only) - $20

Did you ever wonder how flint and steel can spark to help make a fire? Come learn together on how to survive out in the wild.
Vet Academy - $10
Teacher - Amanda Van De Venter
Vet Academy lets children explore life as a veterinarian, from the rigorous training involved in learning about different kinds of animals to the importance of food, exercise and conservation.
Watercolors - $10
Teacher - Ashley Shruga
Do you like to paint? Come learn the color wheel how to make colors by blending and paint a picture together each session. There is plenty of time to paint extra too.
2ND HOUR CLASS CHOICES
Animal Class - $30
Teacher -Melissa Cleary
Come learn about lions, tigers, and bears oh my! This class is gonna be amazing! We will be looking 6 different animal groups. Mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, birds and invertebrates. Live animals will be brought into class. We will be doing crafts, kids will be creating a pop bottle ecosystem with parental permission.
An Introduction to American Sign Language (K-6th) - $0
Teacher - Holly Cheyne
Topics include: basic vocabulary, grammar, history, fingerspelling, numbers, terminology, and Deaf culture.
Big Life Journals - Growth Mindset Challenge - $5
Teacher - Kathy Ratliff
In this growth mindset class students will promote the concept of "yet". They will learn how to switch their minds to be positive, open-minded and hopeful, rather than stuck in the "I can't do this position. This book is by Big Life Journals. Christmas Workshop – (K-3) – $25

In this class, the students will make a gift for a special someone each week, at the end of the semester they will have 5 nice gifts to give to family or friends. They will come home wrapped and ready to put under the Christmas tree.
Crafting with Perler Beads - $5
Teacher - Sarah Beth Bonjour
Do you enjoy Perler beads as much as I do! In this class the kids will work to create unique designs by using perler beads on different forms and melting them together to create their own masterpiece. This is a excellent activity to develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, basic math and imaginative play.
Elementary Music - $0

Come learn rhythm, music, singing and all things music.
Minute to Win It (k-6) - $5
Teacher - Kelli Tocco
This class will be based on the TV game show Minute to Win It. The kids will be given a challenge to complete within one minute time span. The children will be put into teams and will work together.
STUDY HALL - $0
Teacher – Bob Saul
This class is offered for those students who maybe see a first hour class option and a third hour option but not one that they love for 2nd hour. You must bring something to occupy your time for this hour such as: reading, school work, coloring. This class will have adult supervision and the students must stay in the room the entire hour. All regular drop-off fees still apply.
Tea Time with Beatrix Potter - $5
Teacher - Diana Higuchi
Join us for a Tea Party! We will be learning proper etiquette and enjoying snacks and beverages and reading stories.
Young American History – $5
Teacher – Aimee Hansen
Come learn about famous Americans.
We will be basing this class on a series of books. Come learn about some of our American Heroes -- Helen Keller, Abraham Lincoln, Anne Frank, Martin Luther King Jr., Christopher Columbus, Davy Crockett, Rosa Parks Harriet Tubman, Benjamin Franklin, John F Kennedy, Fredrick Douglas
3RD HOUR CLASS CHOICES
Army Base (K-5th grade) - $5
Teacher- Jason Carlson-Mocny
Ready! Aim! Fire!!! Have fun battling with your army. This class is a creation of one of our own Hometeam Moms. This game involves strategy by taking the plastic army men, Styrofoam, Popsicle sticks, and Lincoln logs and build your base. Children are then matched with an opponent and you shoot rubber bands at your opponent to knock down their men. Winner is the one with the most men standing at the end of the match. Scores are kept, and an Army Base Champion is declared at the Championships the last day of the semester. Boys and Girls alike LOVE this class. Participation is required. Latex allergy students would be highly discouraged from participation.
Crossfit for Kids - $0
Teacher - Anna Campbell
Have you ever watched the crossfit games and wonder how those people train for their sport. Come workout like the Crossfit athletes you see on the Crossfit Games. Mrs. Anna has been trained by Coach Kolin the last three years and she is ready to take on this challenge and train the kids. This is all weight bearing excerise, obstacle courses and team games. This is a Hometeam favorite and we are thankful Mrs. Anna has made it happen for us this year.
Drawing with Draw, Write, Now - $10
Teacher - Angie Radofski
This drawing/penmanship class develops kids artistic ability and their handwriting skills. They draw a picture with step by step instructions and then write a story about it. This class is only for those that are able to write a story independently.
The class is based on this series of books.
Escape Room – $5
Teacher – Sarah Beth Bonjour
Can your student escape the classroom? This is a new unique class based on the HOT escape room concept. Solve the mystery that is education based and in the meantime the students will learn critical thinking, problem solving, communication and collaboration along with creativity and innovation.
Lego Class K-2 - $5
Teacher – Kelli Tocco
This class will have LEGO challenges (can you build it), science related activities, and plenty of free play. Children are not allowed to take their projects home, but they are given the plans to re-create the project at home.
Little House on the Prairie - $12
Teacher - Aimee Hansen/Di Higuchi
This semester we will be reading, crafting and studying the pioneer days by reading the Little House books. Walk through the time period, make crafts and lapbooks, and eat snacks. What a great way to learn history. Little House in the Big Woods is the first book in the series that we will be researching.
Magic School Bus - $10
Teacher - Jessica Hemphill
Join Ms. Frizzle (and Miss Jessica) and the gang on the Magic School Bus and discover the exciting world around us! Through stories, crafts, and experiments we will learn about the ocean, archaeology, our senses, animal habitats, and so much more!
No Stove Cooking - $20
Teacher - Amanda Van De Venter
Hands on no stove cooking class that will teach students how to prepare different menu items from all three meals-breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as desserts and beverages. No Children with Food Allergies are permitted in this class.
Woodworking (2nd-5th)- $30
Teacher - Bob Saul III
Do you want to learn how to cut, glue and sand and assemble a fun project or two/three? Mr. Bob is known for offering Woodworking only in the fall semester and it is always a super popular class. Things they have made in the past: Storage trunks, step stools, bat houses, shelves, benches. This class is a fast moving class and kids must be comfortable using tools.
